In the red and it’s only the second week!

The title pretty much say what my sentiments are right now.  Updated spreadsheet for expenses revealed that I had spent P200++ beyond my P1,800 budget for 2 weeks.  Now I need to find a way to decrease my next week’s budget by the total amount of overspending.  Crap, I tell you.  To be fair, the expenses I listed includes the Metro Rail Transit (MRT) card for P100 that is good for about 9 more rides.  Budget was also thwarted by cravings for something to eat in the morning at the office.  This month is rather weird ’cause I can’t stop myself from eating even if I am not the least bit hungry.  Something is terribly wrong with me and I hate it.  Today I wore a satin top with side zipper, and when I ran my hands across my side I felt small bulges.  Told myself that hey, it’s just my bra that is a little tight but NOOOOO, who was I kidding?!  I am only 5′4 and weighs 100lbs tops and definitely could use a few more pounds but NOT in the wrong places.  I need to diet.  Or simply exercise.  Both of which are very, very hard to accomplish when you are like me who eats anything and everything (just not the crawly ones).

P1,800 was the total budget I set for two weeks, P900 a week.  Includes daily fare and lunch, no breakfast.  We are paid bi-monthly and I am experimenting with limiting my ATM withdrawals into once a week, for exact amount computed for a week’s expenses.  I am succeeding, so far.

September is a really crazy month.  Tomorrow we will go to my friend Z’s house to celebrate her birthday and as a sending away party for her, too.  Group contributed P400 each for food and everything.  I will be giving her my $10 stashed a long time ago as a going away present.  She needed money so I’ll give it to her.  I am just not sure if she will still borrow my $50 like we talked about.  If ever she will, it will be a loan to a very good friend.  She’ll pay me in $$, too, once she’s settled in Dubai.  I wish her all the best.

On the 27th, my friend C’s son (my godson) will celebrate his 2nd birthday and I am thinking if I should go given the dismal look of my September finances.  Gift will be bought and fare will be shelled out.  I really don’t wanna think about it.  And I am inclined to not go. 

My parents are scheduled to go to our province to oversee the harvesting of rice from our patch of land.  I am not comfortable of not giving them some cash to spend on the trip but what can I do? I definitely need to save and all.  I hope they will reschedule the trip so I have time to tweak my next week’s budget to include the unexpected expense.

Obviously, my DSL connection is now working.  Up until this afternoon, the network at our side of the city has no connection for almost 48 hours.  I thought maybe because of the nonstop week of rain. I have called up PLDT but I just receive similar answers.  I was seriously asking them how I can file a claim for rebate.  Good thing it is ok now and MAYBE I’ll rethink the rebate.  If I find out it’s worth the effort, then, heck, they will definitely here from me again.  And soon.
