That was the jackpot prize for Philippine lottery last Sunday.  Nobody has won the jackpot since December 2008 that’s why it went up to that much.  About 7.3 million US dollars.  Doesn’t that make your head spin?

I have made a total of 2 bets; one was last Saturday for a Sunday draw for P20.  There was a long line of people hoping for a life-changing jackpot prize.  For that big sum?  Why not?  I could spare a 20.

Now, if I was the lucky one, the first thing I’ll do is let it sit in a time deposit for 30 days while I reflect on what I should do.  And here it is from the top of my head, in no particular order:

1.  Determine how much I would need to live on till my last breath.  Then take it to the bank to be placed on a CD ladder.  I don’t think I can spend P10M on myself and my family, so there’s alot left over.

2.  Book a tour somewhere for me and my friends.  We love to travel, andI swear we’ll have a blast.  Hand them a total of P1M each in the form of CD ladder.

3.  Setup a trustfund for P.A.W.S, an animal shelter.

4.  Setup a trustfund for Anawim, a shelter for the elderly.

5.  Get a franchise of McDonald’s & Jollibee.

6.  Setup a trustfund for Philippine General Hospital.

7.  Eerrr… I don’t know what else.  Dang, P347M is a lot!!!

Luckily, I don’t have to make any decisions.  2 lucky, lucky, lucky persons won the jackpot last Sunday.  They’ll split the amount and live like kings/queens.  I just hope they will be wise about it.

Yes, my first for this year.  Hopefully the last?  After lunch yesterday, I felt my throat hurting, my arms aching, and my head throbbing.  About 2PM, I can feel my temperature rising, but the stubborn me refused to take any meds for fear of making a mess (my stomach was rather queasy).

I thought about taking off early from work, but decided against it since it was only about an hour before we are let out.  By the time I got home, my temperature was up to 40.  Mom cooked up rice porridge (my favorite) which I devoured, then followed by paracetamol.

Woke up by 5AM this morning, I thought about going to work since fever is gone, but I imagined the cold office so I scrapped the idea.  I am currently facebooking, drinking coffee and emailing my work friends.

I’ll be up and about tomorrow, though.  Gym should wait till next week or end of this week.

I am 28.  And I have never watched a movie with R-18 because of sexual content.

I first watched an R-18 movie (rating was due to violence; starred a black guy I forgot who) when I was 24, and the guy at the booth even stopped me from entering and demanded my age and ID.  I WAS 24!  Didn’t know if I should be flattered or embarrased, all I did was laugh like crazy.

Tonight, I went to Robinson’s Galleria with a guy friend to hit the gym then watch Sagwan (boat paddle) after.  Sagwan was a pink movie, and my first R-18 one.  It was a laughtrip (suppressed laughter, actually) all the way, except for a few quiet moments when the story was a bit boring.  It was also stressful, seeing people doing ‘it’, gays, no less.

Spent P150 for the ticket, P115 for dinner.  Well spent, though.

I wrote in a previous post that I was ‘officially’ declared underweight by the doctor who gave me the physical exam.  I was around 4+ lbs underweight, weighing only 103lbs and standing 5′4.  This was last January 31, and I’ve been hitting the gym every other day and wolfing down 2 servings of rice each day since.  I reduced my meat and sweets intake, though.

Well, guess what?  I weighed again and I am down a kilo or 2.2lbs.  Pretty crazy, to think that I am eating a lot of carbs lately.  I guess my 30-minute cardio workout is burning more calories than I take in.

Maybe I should increase weight lifting.  Or eat much more.  Or both.  But man…eating can be so expensive!

For lack of better story to tell, I am tagging myself.

1.  In my first year of college, I was the only one who came from a public school.  Everyone else was from private/exclusive for boys or girls school.

2.  I am turning 29 and I’ve never had a sip of liquor or a puff of cigarette.  Friends tried to persuade me to have a drink but the smell is just revolting they failed.

3.  My nose is overly sensitive to cigarette smoke.  I can’t stand it, I can’t breathe properly when somebody within 10 meters is smoking.

4.  I have a very bad sense of direction.  Leave me at the center of a mall and I will most likely end up on the other side’s exit.

5.  The first dog I remember having was when I was 5 years old.  It was given to me by our next-door neighbor, and we named him Charlie, after the member of the group Menudo (they were big in the ’80s; it was where Ricky Martin started).  Our Charlie died on the year 2000.  He was 15 years old.

6.  Charlie’s mother’s name was Carla, and his sister was Candy.

7.  I bathe with cotton balls in my ears.  This was to prevent water from coming in to my ears and trigger an ear infection.

8.  I have never worn a swimsuit outside our room.

9.  My average weight was 100 lbs.  I went as low as 95 lbs when I was 25-26 years old.

10.  I only had one boyfriend. Ex-boyfriend now for about 4 years.

11.  Shopping for clothes tire me.  So I shop one to two articles  for about 2-3 times a year.

12.  My dream is to have a grocery store.  My parents started our homebased business when I was 4 to 5 years old.

13.  My lifelong dream is to retire in the country, with a moderately sized house, but with a huge yard so I can plant trees, veggies, and have a dozen dogs and cats wrestling with each other.

14.  I eat anything, anywhere (just not dogs).  But I shy away from fine dining.  I’m just too awkward for it.

15.  I bawled like a baby when I watched Black Beauty.  Come to think of it, I cry easily when there’s an animal involved.

16.  I was a girl scout from first grade till highschool.

17.  I am good at catching things.

18.  Love, love, love books and music.  With my Sony Walkman, I made our school library my second home back in college.

19.  I don’t know how to swim, ride a bike, or roller blade/skate.

20.  Read #19 and you’ll know I have a bad sense of balance.

21.  The first blogs I read and inspired me to create and keep one were Stacking Pennies, Paranoid Asteroid (through SP), Frugal Bachelor, Get Rich Slowly and Dishpan Dribble.

22.  I have a habit of reading a new-to-me blog from the very first post.

23.  A guy may look at me all he wants, but hands off, please.

24.  I can be vicious and unforgiving when it comes to borrowed money.  When you give me a date when I’ll receive it, you better give it.

25.  At one point, our household included 3 dogs, 2 hamsters, one white rat, 2 janitor fishes, a talking myna, 2 ducks, and 2 cats.

26.  My dad set up a tailoring in our home with my mom, and all of our school uniforms were by them.

27.  I am terrified of dating.  One of my staff had set me up for a date with her cousin’s American friend, but I declined.  Didn’t feel right.  Don’t ask me why.

28.  I look snob and unfriendly.  So the people who had the courage to speak to me were instant friends.

29.  I love, love, love rice porridge.  My friends say it is for sick people (easy to eat, digest).  I can eat it for a week straight.

30.  I love the rain.  And the smell of freshly cut grass after the rain.

If you’re like me who had to muster lotsa courage to post my December results, you probably (unconsciously) did some frantic saving during January in an attempt to redeem yourself.

Look at the result of that frantic saving:  networth increase of 82%!

Most of that increase was due to the decrease of CC debt.  About 9k became due last January 28 and I paid the entire amount January 26.

The spending allowance of 3.6k was not fully spent; about 700 is still sitting in my wallet.  Will put it towards my eFund.

Income from my micro-business funded my personal improvement fund, boracay fund and travel fund.  I have another deposit to make from my business on Monday, and it will go towards my efund.

I am excited for February!

It’s official.  I am 5 lbs. underweight.

Yesterday we had our annual physical exam and I tipped the scale at 47 kilos or 103.4 lbs.  That was 3.4 lbs more than my weight a month before the holidays.  My weight has never, ever got past 100lbs and when I stepped on the scale and saw the increase, I gasped.

The lady doctor who interpreted my numbers computed my BMI and it was around 17.  I am 5′4 and I have always known  that I am underweight.  I just never had a doctor say it to make it official.  Thing is, each time I gain a bit, it is usually visible only around my tummy, sides and lower belly.  My arms and legs never get their fair share of fat/muscles.  It sucks big time.

The trainor assigned to me at the gym will have a grand/hard time shaping me up.
