I bought a few thousand shares of a certain company couple of months ago at a now-steep price through an officemate’s sister who is a manager of a brokerage. Little did I know that this officemate rode on my account and increased my purchase of a couple thousands more. She paid for it, so it was ok. But now that the market is bad, she needs money to pay for other credit card debt, she wants me to buy her share at the price she bought it less a couple hundred pesos, and making it sound like she’s doing me a favor by giving me more shares! insert-something-like-a-cuss-word-here.
She even made an offer to make the deal payable in 5 installments, and that she’s willing to sell it to me at a loss of P800. Man! The stock has lost about 2/3 of its original price and is currently below par. You think I will knowingly lock more of my cash to that stock at this point? Definitely not!
I politely told her I can’t really shoulder the loss at this point, and that the cash I received from the 1st half of 13th month is earmarked for the dentist’s bill this November. Imagine the woman telling me what to do with my money. And this wasn’t the first time she did this offer. She also is trying to make me feel guilty, that she shouldn’t have ‘partnered’ with me. As if I asked her to.
Whatever. I really needed to do that. Now I feel better.

LOL!! This is the funniest investment ‘deal’ I’ve ever heard offered before. Tell her I’ll sell her my Google shares for $500. Sure, they’re only worth $330 on the open market, but I paid $600! Anyways I’m very happy to hear you refused the offer.

I know! It’s crazy! As if I do not know the current price of the stock in the market. Still, I can’t be disrespectful, she’s almost a senior citizen!
